The St. Ann Youth Choir is the pre-eminent sacred music children’s choir in the Diocese of Palm Beach. The 75-plus children range in age from 7-18 and sing under the direction of composer Christopher Hogan. SAYC provides music for masses and concerts at their home parish of St. Ann Catholic Church and throughout our Diocese and beyond.
Established in 2014, SAYC has recorded three albums – including the 2023 release of Water of the Soul, participated in two European singing tours and twice been featured on Sounds from the Spires on Sirius XM’s The Catholic Channel.
What a year it has been. Our 10-year anniversary celebration was capped off by our singing tour through Austria and Germany that defied expectations. The trip was nothing short of magical – as the children provided music at more than 10 concerts and masses at the most spectacular cathedrals and basilicas with the backdrop of Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. It was humbling and inspirational to be witness to the children growing in their faith all while awing international audiences with their talent.
The year also included the long-awaited dedication of our choir entrance to John Herrick who has been on this decade-long journey with us from the beginning. We could not be more grateful for his trust and support of us. However, to ensure all the children who join SAYC in the future know his impact, the dedication of our entrance states “In appreciation for all the doors you have opened for us”.
And – now it is time to celebrate the conclusion of another year at our annual Spring concert!
This year’s concert is especially poignant as we honor our four high school seniors moving into our Legacy Choir. These four young women have been with SAYC for its entire decade of existence and have been instrumental in the development and growth of our choir.
